It will be here soon! The Epilepsy Alliance’s seventh annual awareness walk and fundraiser, the Freedom Walk will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, at Heritage Park in Irvine. Get ready for a happy day at the Kids’ Carnival, join our walk around the lake, and plan on a delicious old-fashioned barbecue lunch with friends and family.

The Freedom Walk website, www.ocepilepsywalk.kintera.org, is up and running! Mark your calendars and start your teams! You can register online or download registration forms directly from the website to distribute to family and friends.

For the first time this year, the Epilepsy Alliance of Orange County has been chosen to be an Official Charity Partner of the 2009 Avia OC Marathon! Full marathon, half marathon and 5K events will take place on Sunday, May 3rd. There will also be a Kids Walk on May 2nd.

Starting at Newport Beach’s Fashion Island, the course includes Pacific Coast Highway, Corona Del Mar Ocean Views, Newport Bay & Back Bay, OC Performing Arts Center, South Coast Plaza, and the Santa Ana River. Celebrate your finish at the fantastic OC Fair and Events Center – the location for the Health & Fitness Expo and Finish Line Festival.

If you have friends, relatives, co-workers, or other contacts who enjoy participating in athletic events, please let them know about this opportunity to have a great time and raise money to help people with epilepsy in our community.
